Apparently most of our Facebook fans share Forbes’ opinion of President Putin:
Taufik Kurniadisimply says he’s” the best leader “
Daniel Souloukna agrees: “the best the world has, for decades already. no doubt history will surely acknowledge it...”
Ejaz Ahmad chimes in: “He deserves this, and he used his influence for right cause- avoiding the bloodshed”
Michelle Thomas praises his peacekeeping initiatives: “Putin is seen as a true world leader because of his stance against US intervention in Syria .”
And Elena Indracusin is a bit more antagonistic: “Obama is still second? He should not make the top ten list.

But, back to global news. We have several articles on use of military drones, also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, by the United States.
One of the most anticipated documentaries on drones has been released for audiences worldwide to finally see the #US drone program for what it really is. The film takes viewers on a journey through the struggles of Pakistanis affected by the strikes as well as a former USAF #drone sensor operator’s feelings about what he has done. You can watch the whole film and read out review at voiceofrussia.com.
We have a lot of accompanying material, too:
The Voice of Russia discussed the story of Rafiq ur Rehman, a Pakistani primary school teacher has felt personally and profoundly the impact of US drone strikes in his country with Shahzad Akbar, the attorney of Rehmans’ family and director of Foundation for Fundamental Rights, that protects human rights in Pakistan.

Not only were Rehman’s three young children, aged 5 to 13, injured, but his 67-year-old mother was killed by US drones. Rehman has traveled to Washington DC and appeared before members of Congress on Wednesday to describe his experience. This is the first time in US history that lawmakers were hearing directly from the survivors of a US drone strike. Interestingly, the lawyer of the war-torn family has been prevented from entering the US. Here’s what our readers and listeners have to say:
Lawrence Mmidi Mankga believes “Drones should only be for surveillance and they shouldn't be able to carry weapons or have any striking capability”
Mothupi Sefularo suggests that “Technology should make our lives easier not sad and painful”
Not everyone condemns drone use:
Ankur Gupta wrote: “I disagree. […] I firmly believe that Pakistanis totally deserve these strikes. Pakistan has been running terrorist camps to be used against India for decades”
